(All about this blog)
It is ALL about JUAN.
This Filipino-centered genre-blog aims to reflect factual and opinionated views of Filipino minds into the Filipino culture, government, society, and even the nation itself through the forms essays, poems, pictures, videos and songs.
PANANAW NI JUAN is another MAKAPILIPINONG TAMBAYAN and a new cyber home for Filipinos and Filipinos-at-hearts that aims to promote nationalism, friendship and somehow, national unity as well.
Today, social networking takes greater portion of the time and attention of modern people in their daily lives compared to any time in the past. In accordance to a survey conducted by International Telecommunications Institute last June of this year, Filipinos, in general, are considered to be one of the nations in the entire globe with the largest number of daily internet use and daily social media interactions, particularly in Google, in Face book and in Twitter. These sites purposively have one thing in common- they basically inform and update. And since they are warmly accommodated by the world, people are indeed reveling into the pleasure of being informed and updated. We love to hear and to be heard. That is why information disseminations have never been more difficult through the generous helping hands of these social media. In connection to these, people are moving forward and furthering and modernizing their standards, interests, and way of living and generally themselves, thus, the entire world should follow as well.
Promoting of Filipino nationalism must be put into a higher modernization. It should take advantage to camouflage itself into the advancements of technology. Gone were the days that ONLY books and teachers could sew patriotism and the young minds together in the four corners of the classroom. In a world where touch-screen gadgets, Wi-Fi connections, phones and a lot more bunch techie stuffs are considered between wants and needs, it is important and wise to be a part of this, or at least not be secluded and left behind this modernization, and be carried by the flow. Same with nationalism promotion, it should adapt itself, too, into the contemporary schemes of this generation. That’s the main reason of this blog’s existence.
There are a lot of perspectives one could pick just by simply walking into the streets of Manila. Emotions, realizations and ideas are really absorbable even in these simple instances. The peoples’ faces mirrors a lot of stories that could be read just by a stare, yet we often fail to spare a little more attention to them thus we fail to understand them. If we could let just a very little while of ten seconds just to situate ourselves into theirs, maybe we could have a better grasp into where their dispositions and stands are coming from. We fail to understand the components of our society in greater depths that is why we fail to appreciate and get to know more of it and eventually, unconsciously, we gradually miss the mark and the substance of our being a Filipino. As a result, we tend to appreciate other nations more and become less Filipinos and more foreigners in our own land.
Personal and more critical insights, reflections and stands are expected in the forms of editorials, feature stories, essays, pictures and even songs and videos.
Generally, this blog holds an objective of opening eyes and touching lives and bringing the Filipino cyber community closer into a clearer and more actual panorama into what really the country is into, what we really have, what we are lacking and who we truly are as a Filipino nation. This blog will make Filipinos love being themselves more being Filipinos.
This blog has the aspiration of making the Filipino people set the country their number one and only one.
